An emerald and diamond ring is one of the most vital and precious wedding or engagement rings available. Emeralds can be even more vital than diamonds, and these two precious gemstones are often combined together in silver or gold rings. The green color of these gems looks gorgeous with silver or white gold, and a compound of diamonds and emeralds in sterling silver or white gold is a stunning selection for an engagement ring or for a special gift.

Emerald is one of the most vital of all gemstones. Its green color is very captivating and the deeper the green, the more vital and sought after the stone is. Paler ones are often simply called green beryl. The most vital ones come from Colombia. Brazil and Zambia furnish high capability emeralds too, although the color of the Brazilian emerald is regularly lighter than that of the deeper green Colombian variety. One of the most famous varieties of emeralds on the shop is the Cat’s Eye Emerald, a stone that has an effect of a cat’s eye and is a very rare type of pale one.

Most emeralds have some flaws, and these are generally suitable even in high capability stones. Flawless emeralds are very rare and very expensive. Today most emeralds on the shop are treated with oil to hide the flaws, and oil medicine is seen as an suitable way to treat the stones. A flawless stone that is sold as an emerald but seems too cheap is probably a fake. Fake emeralds and artificial emeralds are very common today, and other stones are often sold as emerald.

It can be very difficult to tell a artificial stone from a genuine one and regularly only a professional can tell the difference. artificial ones often have captivating names, including the Regency Emerald, the Kimberly and the Spanish Emerald, but the Spanish range is just glass that has been dyed green to look as if an emerald. Sometimes other gemstones are passed as emeralds, including green sapphire and green fluorite. It is foremost to only buy emeralds from a reputable dealer who can tell artificial from a genuine stone, and who can prove the authenticity of the stone.

Because emerald is the birthstone for anyone born in the month of May, an emerald and diamond ring can be a unique and highly vital birthday present. Most of the time diamonds and emeralds are combined together in wedding rings and engagement rings.

The rings are very special items in weddings. Though they do not have to be expensive they are priceless, to the bride and groom if to no one else. One of the most special rings that can be picked for nuptials is a 3 stone wedding ring.

They are called past, gift and hereafter rings because that is what each stone represents. They are a reminder and a promise to each other that their lives are entwined not just for a moment, but for their lifetimes. Truly romantic!

Three stone rings have verily three stones of an roughly equal size and quality. The stones are normally diamonds though some choose to use their birthstones instead. Each stone is meant to be a match to the other two pieces.

The stones are normally located in a row. The central stone may or may not be slightly higher in the setting than the other pieces. Just as in our lives, it is the gift that is the most obvious.

Finding matching gems can be difficult and time consuming. This is why an honest jeweler is important, as well as providing sufficient time to get the perfect ring. After all, your jeweler needs to find the stones and then generate your ring for you. That is assuredly not a quick thing to do.

Hollywood celebrities aren’t immune to the request for retrial of the three stone ring. Madonna’s Edwardian style ring was specially designed by husband Guy Ritchie and features three round diamonds in a platinum band. Toni Braxton and husband Keri Russell on the other hand, chose a ring with two heart shaped diamonds flanking an oval center stone.

In antique times, men wore as much jewelry as women. Some kings wore jewelry as a talisman to ward off evil. So even back then, they had to rely on a handmade men’s jewelry box to keep their jewelry safe.

During the 17th century, Greek artisans shaped beads with shells and bones to make jewelry. Men wore badges to denote group and valid rank, and emblems of religious or group or political affiliation.

Indian mythology is replete with tales of kings and male gods who wore large crowns encrusted with discrete precious stones. In real life too, Indian men wore jewelry such as rings, earrings, armlets, nose rings, lip rings, necklaces, and chains with big pendants. They also wore jewelry on the breast in the form of brooches, clasps, and buttons.

On their hands and feet, they wore rings, bracelets, and anklets. The waist too was adorned with belts, girdles, pendants, chatelaines. To this day, there are some men from the state of Orissa in India who still wear jewelry all the time.

In Egypt everyone wore jewelry. The men wore earrings, armlets, bracelets, and anklets. The men’s anklets were huge and round shaped. The whole body of the anklet would be hollow filled with precious stones.

Egyptians wore beaded collars called a Wesekl. The rich wore jewelry made of gold or silver or Electrum (an amalgam of gold and silver) and inlaid with precious stones. This jewelry was handed down from generation to generation.

In those antique times, men normally followed in their father’s footsteps and wore what they wore. As the contemporary world goes through changes, men too have the opening to pick their occupation and way of dress. But there still are tribal men in every country who continue to wear their forefathers’ jewelry and live the same way their ancestors did.

In today’s world, men are slowly gravitating back to jewelry and you can find many youngsters sporting rings, chains, bracelets, and earrings. There is also the pro ‘jewelry’ like cuff links and tie pins made of gold or other precious metals, and expensive watches, which has never lost its charm.

Men have started wearing fashionably thick silver chains. They also like to match the chain with a anklet of the same pattern. It is also carefully macho and trendy to pierce an ear to wear a gold or silver stud.

Rings were always worn by men. Western men normally wear only their wedding rings and there are those who were rings with religious connotations.

There are the Asian men who like to wear their birthstone on a ring. There is a superstitious reliance that if they wear it luck will keep knocking at their door. In India and elsewhere, male Bharatanatyam (an Indian classical dance) dancers wear jewelry and costumes very similar to their female counterparts and carry it off so well!

Men are permanently evolving and nowadays it looks like their fascination lies more in fancy electronic gadgetry. Whatever be their interest, men can in fact find a jewelry box to store their collection of jewelry and accessories.

The 50th wedding anniversary has been labeled the “golden year” for a reason. Traditionally, the gift given to a couple who have been married for fifty years, is gold. There’s a lot of history behind a couple that has been married for fifty years. A ton of laughter, tears, and memories. Couples that have been married this long deserve the best. Every spouse should see that their requisite other receives the best too.

As a tradition, gold is the ultimate selection for this anniversary. But what should you purchase? A ring, earrings, a pendant, bracelet? It can be a very difficult choice. Nevertheless, a very beloved selection is a ring. If your spouse doesn’t have a “mother’s ring,” a 50th anniversary provides an exquisite time to receive one. The birthstones of all the children will be set into the ring. She’ll precisely cherish it.

Anniversary rings make an exquisite gift to give or replacement with your loved one. You can purchase a particular ring, or a ring-set to commemorate your vows to one another. The circle, which is an infinite symbol, is a spectacular way to confirm “forever.” There are many separate styles of anniversary rings to pick from. Some are plain gold, others are fancy with stones set into the ring. Shop around a bit before you commit to a definite ring style.

The modern craze seems to be white-gold. Men and women alike have been seen sporting white-gold wedding bands for the last ten years. Sometimes the rings employ original yellow gold in their make as well. The combination can be very exquisite. Especially if it’s easy and subtle. If the ring looks tie-dye it’s thoroughly over done. A ring should be detailed yet elegant. Think that when shopping.

They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. While it may be true that women love diamonds, there are a lot of gorgeous stones out there to pick from. Sapphire rings are very elegant, as are Emerald and Ruby. Onyx, as bold and dramatic as it is, just doesn’t seem suitable for an anniversary ring. An additional selection which is light and subtle is an Amethyst stone. Amethyst looks great with a combination of white-gold and small diamonds.

Before choosing a stone for your spouse’s ring, look straight through their personal jewelry when they’re not around. What type of stones do they like? What type of gold? Most importantly, what’s their ring size? Once you’ve compiled these answers, shopping should be a breeze.

But if rings aren’t your fortified cup of tea, you may opt for an additional one form of jewelry. What about a personalized charm? Did you know that they can precisely take a picture and scan the image into the gold? Because the image is precisely etched into the gold, you won’t have to worry about the image fading, like you might with a locket. The image can be current, or it can be an older image. Many couples conclude to go for a “remember when” type of image. The picture displays them at a much younger stage. Although the idea is very modern, it has a gorgeous presentation.

Perhaps no gemstone has been as prized throughout history as the Ruby. Predominant in Bible and in ancient Sanskrit writings as the most precious of all gemstones, Rubies have adorned emperors and kings and inspired countless legends and myths with their rich, fiery hues.

As the extreme red gemstone, rubies have symbolized passion and romance for centuries. Ruby is the birthstone for month of July, and it is recommended for married couples celebrating their 15th and 40th wedding anniversary.

Also the color of blood, the stone is symbolic of courage and bravery. Warriors were said to have implanted Rubies under their skin to bring them valor in battle and make them invincible. The stone has also been used as a talisman against danger, disaster, to stop bleeding, and a whole of other ailments. Its intense color was belief to come from an undying flame inside the stone; or, as some legends would have it, a piece of planet Mars.

Ruby is the red collection of corundum, a sister of Sapphire. Like Sapphire, Ruby is measured 9 on the Mohs scale of hardness, production it the second hardest material known after diamonds.

The most indispensable Rubies come from Myanmar, once known as Burma, but they are mined throughout Southeast Asia. Good potential stones come from Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. Kenya and Tanzania also are becoming more foremost as mining sources for Ruby. While the color of the stones from East Africa rivals the world’s best Rubies, most of these stone are fraught with inclusions that diminish their transparency and value. However, the East African stones are displayed to full advantage in Cabochon cuts and have done well in the mass jewelry market. Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Russia have all produced occasional top potential Rubies, but the rough terrain in these areas has made mining difficult.

The most foremost factor to reconsider when purchasing a Ruby is its color. It comes in a collection of shades fluctuating from purplish-red and bluish-red to orange-red. Like Sapphire, there is also a penetrative collection of Ruby that can display a six pointer star when in a level domed Cabochon cut.

The finest rubies are intensely saturated, pure red with no overtones of brown or blue. After color, the factors that influence value are clarity, cut and size. Rubies that are clear with no visible inclusions are more indispensable than those with visible internal flaws.

Rubies are facilely available in sizes up to 2 carats, and because of their intense color and durability, they make exquisite accent stones. Larger sizes can be obtained, but top potential Rubies are rarer and more indispensable than colorless diamonds, particularly in sizes above 5 carats. For instance, a 16 carats Ruby sold at auction for more than 0,000 at Sotheby’s in 1988. In May 1995, a 27.37 carats Burmese ruby ring sold for 4 million dollars at Sotheby’s in Geneva, Switzerland, an overwhelming 6,145 per carat. In contrast, none of the D-color, internally flawless diamonds over 50 carats sold in the last decade can match this value per carat.

Rubies are rarely found exquisite in nature, which is why many are heat treated to intensify or lighten their color or enhance their clarity. Heat enhancement is permanent, garage process. Some Rubies also have surface fractures and cavities that are filled with glass like materials to enhance their appearance. This filler may break, fall or wear out over time if exposed to heat, strong abrasives or constant impact. For both treated or untreated stones, the safest cleaning method is to just use soapy water or a mild market solvent and a brush.

Emerald is both the customary and modern May birthstone. Emerald would be the only other semi-precious stone, aside from Topaz which is listed in all the old birthstone tables. It is suggested to be the anniversary gift for a 20th or a 35th anniversary and also as an alternative stone for a 55th wedding anniversary.

Emeralds are green stones that have a hardness of around 7.5 to 8. Its name has been derived from the French word “esmeraude” as well as from the Greek word “smaragdos” that basically means “green gemstone”. The emeralds that are of higher quality would have a deep grass green color with some kind of bluish cast. On the other hand, those stones of lesser quality have lighter shades of green. They could also have a slightly more yellowish tone.

These stones are mined in numerous countries but the major producers would be Brazil and Columbia, which has been recognized to be the source of the finest stones. They could also be found in Russia, Pakistan, Australia, India, South Africa, the United States and Norway.

As emeralds generally have numerous cracks, inclusions and fissures, most of these stones have to be “oiled” or treated with oil. This would mean that they need to be immersed in oil, as this process would cut the visibility of such imperfections and flaws. It could also heighten the gemstone’s clarity.

You must also know that emeralds are relatively brittle stones and so, allowable care must be done as they are worn and cleaned. They should also never be subjected to steam cleaning or dipped in an ultrasonic.

Emeralds have also been used as amulets that could ward off cases of epilepsy in the young. They have also been concept to cure diseases and other conditions of the eye. There are some claims that propose these stones could heighten memory, clairvoyance and intelligence.

Amber has a great appeal, being virtually unique in the world of gems and rocks because of the way in which it was created. It is formed from the fossilised resin of aged trees, and although the yellow/orange amber is most common, it also comes in brown, green, honey, red and even blue. Most blue amber comes from the Dominican Republic, and is the rarest of the ambers. It can also be found washed up on east coast beaches in the Uk if you’re lucky! It is determined to be one of the zodiac birthstones for Taurus.

I have a lovely set of a silver ring and bracelet set with green amber, which makes a change to the usually-seen orange colour. Apparently, green amber was formed from inclusions of plant material. The majority of amber comes from the Baltic countries, along with Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It isn’t a rare gem, unless it contains an insect trapped in it, when it is worth a lot more. But I would warn you to be particular when buying these as there are synthetic ones created to look like genuine specimens. All the time buy from a reputable source, like the dealers on my website, as they are reputable traders.

As Amber is quite soft, in the middle of 2 and 3 on the Mohs hardness scale, it needs to be handled with some care, so store it separately or protected from other pieces of jewellery so that it does not scratch. Also avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for a long time. Solvents in perfume and hairspray can damage your amber, the best thing to do is to use these first and put your amber jewellery on afterwards. Also avoid feel with boiling water. When cleaning your amber jewellery please do not use an ultrasonic cleaner or harsh chemicals and do not use a jewellery dip. A soft cloth and a very tiny drop of pure olive oil are often recommended. If the jewellery is set into gold or silver you could try and clean the metal without touching the amber.

In healing, amber is one of the yellow stones, said to aid the nervous system, the digestive system and the immune system too! It is warm to the touch and it can generate static electricity when rubbed, thus prominent the ancients to consider amber a magical stone. It was even determined to help arthritis and varicose veins, though there is no scientific evidence for this. It is connected with the sun, thus life, and love and luck. Not bad for a small gemstone! either or not you believe in the attributed powers of gems, amber still makes for a beautiful piece of jewellery!

Amber is normally found set in silver or gold jewellery, such as silver necklaces for women, rings, or bracelets. It is unique and that adds to its attraction. You will own something that is nearby 50 million years old! Alternatively, it makes a lovely gift, especially when two or three dissimilar colours of amber are set together in one piece such as a pendant or brooch.
